Frequently asked questions for Basic Maintenance Issues
We look at several issues that could cause this situation including if:
- there is bad drive, lever or loose screw.
- there are issues with linkage of drive system or bearings.
- Areas need grease or components are dry.
Check for the following blade issues:
- loose blade screws
- tension set too tight
- blade needs oil
- socket needs adjustment
- socket is broken
If your blade has non of these issues then we would determine if:
- there is bad drive, lever or loose screw.
- there are issues with linkage of drive system or bearings.
- Areas need grease or components are dry.
Even though fast clippers will heat the blade up more quickly, check to see if:
- the blade is oiled correctly.
- the socket is out of adjustment.
- the tension is too tight.
Otherwise, we determine if the blade drive is warn and replace it.
We determine if these components need replacment:
- broken cord
- switch
- brushes or motor
- battery
The causes for this condition include:
- dry blade
- brushes need replacing
- armature in motor needs replacing/repair
Sometime this issue can be resolved immediately by
- making sure your clippers are running when installing the blade
- using slightly more pressure with the palm of your hand when putting the blade on.
- checking to see that the hinge screws are not loose.
If your clippers are still not working then we determine if:
- the socket needs adjustment.
- latch if broken and needs replacement.
