Geib Buttercut has been producing USA made, high quality shears for the grooming industry since 1976. Founder, Edward Geib began metal working with a professional German cutlerer. From there, Edward honed his skills working with a surgical instruments manufacturer and training extensively with nine major Japanese scissors companies. This family owned and operated company pours their passion into innovating and perfecting their products.

Geib continues to utilize the finest materials and latest manufacturing methods, touring steel companies, heat treatment facilities, forging plants, and manufacturing facilities in the USA and around the world. One recent state-of-the art technology which has been incorporated into their scissor lines is the ball bearing pivot mechanism. Ball bearing assembly are press-fit into the scissor’s pivot hole which restricts motion at the pivot to a single plane eliminating annoying “wobble” such as when the pivot hole normally wears due to motion against the pivot pin. The bearings provide minimal friction at the pivot point so scissoring action becomes nearly effortless.
