The Andis firm slicker brush has more rigid pins that can penetrate deeper for more efficient, time saving movements without being harsh for the coat.  Firm pins reach dense undercoat and tangles more quickly while maintaining their structure allowing for the brush to grip the coat more effectively. The ergonomic handle allows for a more comfortable grip with controlled handling.

Always use in the direction the coat grows.

ProTip

Grab coat nearest the root near the scalp with the first couple rows of pins and brush forward at an angle; Not perpendicular to the body. Avoid surface brushing which is the number one cause of coats appearing to be brushed while matting builds-up underneath. Surface brushing refers to only the top half of the coat being brushed while dead coat and tangles remaining underneath. For non-professionals remember to brush in problem areas including back of legs, chest, neck, behind ears, ears, face, and tails. Check finished area with a comb to make sure all tangles are removed.
