The bathing process is the foundation of creating a fantastic style . Bathing is not just a bath. Its about how products and their application connects the skin and coat health, how to dry to create the best style and proper brushing to comfortably eliminate tangles and light matting or shedding.
On-going scientific research and professional pet groomers’ case study experiences have revolutionized the Pet Grooming Industry by differentiating the approach to the veterinarian defined pet coat lengths (short, medium and long) and understanding the optimal products and ingredients needed to keep the skin and coat nourished and in good shape, ultimately benefiting the long-term health of the pet.
In this class you learn the theory of bathing from start to finish. This comprehensive seminar is about the skin and coat connections. How to bath more safely, more efficiently and have the coat looking incredible; ultimately providing the perfect canvas for a great style. Note We will NOT be discussing client interaction. Safety and Handling is touched on but NOT the main focus. We want you to enhance your bathing. Lunch is not included so bring snacks and drink. We want to maximize your time for learning.

About the Instructors
Lisa Herbold, ICMG, MPAe, MGBS, CAH, PGC, FFC, PTI, and author of Pet Health & Safety Guide, likes to meld her knowledge as an educator and groomer with her knowledge as a veterinary technician to better educate groomers on the health needs of pets. Her goal is to improve how groomers are trained to handle health concerns and emergencies, thus making grooming safer for the pet.

The Knowledgeable Pet Owner Pod Cast
Hollus Gessler is a successful pet boutique and grooming salon owner with over 30 years’ experience with animals and business. Hollus began working at a large advertising agency in New York City after graduating from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She later decided to switch careers into an animal related venture and gained experience working as a hospital administrator with training as a veterinarian technician at the Chicago Veterinarian Emergency Center where she worked under Jerry Klein, currently the lead veterinarian for AKC.
Ultimately Hollus combined both her backgrounds. She opened her first pet retail location in Chicago in 2005, followed by a second location in 2011 which included grooming. To better understand grooming, she attended a grooming academy and apprenticed under a standard poodle breeder/show exhibitor/2nd Gen Professional Groomer. She now is the lead Groomer at her salon.
